Cabin fever got you down? Embrace Finger Lakes winter events

Sheldrake Point in winter

Yes, it snows in winter. Make wine tasting a Finger Lakes winter event!

Sheldrake Point is just a bit north of the 42nd parallel, situated in that sweet spot of the American northeast that experiences each of the four seasons. But for even the most enthusiastic lover of snow, there is no denying that our winters can be tough to endure, and so we welcome the opportunity to attend winter events – social happenings that draw us out of hibernation and bring us together with friends and family.

Winter is snow joke

Those of us living and thriving in northern climes do so because we have come to accept—if not enjoy!—the unique aspects of each season.

At Sheldrake Point, our work doesn’t end with the busy fall harvest. We embrace winter for ice wine, for starkly beautiful vistas of Cayuga Lake and our vineyard, and for a chance to spend quality time with lovers of Finger Lakes wine.

Let it snow

Finger Lakes winter events on Sheldrake Point

Winter doesn’t stop us on Sheldrake Point!

After the tingle of excitement at the first snowfall and the run up to a ‘white Christmas,’ enthusiasm wanes as winter means icy roads, short gray days, and the constant battle of snow removal.

The novelty wears off quick, and unless you’re an avid skier, cabin fever sets in. Exercise and sunshine help if you can muster the energy, but research suggests a simpler solution:

A change of environment and brain stimulation!
