“Riesling in all its forms is in its element here,” writes Wine & Spirits Senior Correspondent, Patrick Comiskey. Don’t wait! Pick up a copy at the newsstand and enjoy with a bottle of Sheldrake Point wine!

October gives us a lot to celebrate as harvest is in full swing and weekend wine tasters arrive in droves. This October, in particular, we have even more to celebrate. Wine & Spirits magazine’s 2015 Annual Buying Guide issue has hit the newsstands and Sheldrake Point is a Wine & Spirits 2015 Top 100 Winery!

“Riesling in all its forms is in its element here,” writes Wine & Spirits Senior Correspondent, Patrick Comiskey. “This past year Sheldrake produced one of the region’s best dry Rieslings, a reserve with thrilling raciness, and with a bit of give to offset that briskness. But the winery’s top Rieslings were the ice wines…”

Riesling Madness

Sheldrake Point Winery earned this recognition owing to the high ratings awarded this year to three of our Rieslings:

Both winemaker Dave Breeden and vineyard manager Dave Wiemann deserve credit for this recognition by Wine & Spirits. The care that goes into growing and nurturing our fruit, bringing it in at harvest, and shepherding to bottling starts and ends with Dave and Dave, and all the passionate people who work with them to bring you award winning Sheldrake Point wine.

And that’s not all…

The hits keep coming. Sheldrake Point is a Wine & Spirits 2015 Top 100 Winery, and then some.

In addition to the year’s Top Wineries, the Wine & Spirits 2015 Annual Buying Guide lists the year’s Top 100 Wines . . . and among those is the Sheldrake Point Winery 2014 Riesling Ice Wine!

And, the issue also lists the year’s Top 100 Best Buys, which includes the Sheldrake Point 2013 Riesling! (Sorry, the 2013 vintage sold out, but the 2014 Riesling is also priced at $16.00).

In good company

Wine & Spirits has been publishing for more than 30 years, is read by over 200,000 members of America’s wine community, and evaluates more than 13,000 bottlings every year. The 2015 Buying Guide is packed with stories about the Top 100 wineries and the personalities that make them special, as well as highlights of the year’s Top 100 wines and Top 100 Best Buys.

To have the name ‘Sheldrake Point’ on the lips and minds of wine consumers and professionals coast-to-coast, and to be listed among such good company, is yet another triumph for our winery and for the Finger Lakes wine region as a whole.

Pick up a copy soon, open a bottle of Sheldrake Point wine, and celebrate with us! You won’t be disappointed!

Chuck was attracted to the Finger Lakes wine industry during his graduate work at the Cornell Hotel School and was instrumental in the transformation of the old abandoned dairy farm to today’s winery and vineyard. As principle owners, he and his wife Fran assume the risk of the venture and personally see to its priorities and requirements.  Chuck’s focus is on the management and company systems and processes.  When not in the office, he and Fran may also be working with the staff, doing repairs, tending the gardens, or chatting with visitors.
