2009 Luckystone Red
|Wine Type:||Red Wine|
|Varietal:||Vinifera Red Blend|
Ruby in color, with a nose that exhibits red fruits, light herbs, and a touch of cedar oak. The wine is medium bodied with light tannins and red fruits and a hint of earthiness and oak in the finish.
The grapes were harvested in October and November 2009. Good ripeness was achieved between 20 and 21 Brix. Yeast included D254 and BM45. All lots were pressed at dryness and racked into older, neutral oak barrels. The Luckystone was blended on 05/31/10 and had 83 ppm SO2 added. It was filtered through 2.0 micron pads and 0.7 micron pads successively, and was acid reduced by 0.7 g/L, and sweetened to 0.4% residual sugar at the same time. It was cold-stabilized by the addition of potassium bitartrate with 3 hours of stirring. It was sterile filtered at bottling on 07/22/10.
This is a popular house red wine for everyday meals, including pastas, pizza, meatloaf and burgers.
