2010 Luckystone Red

Light ruby with a medium intense nose of warm spice, cherry and cranberry. The 2010 Luckystone Red is light in body, nicely balanced with a finish of liquorices, clove and cranberry.
Harvest of Cabernet Franc grapes began on October 8, 2010 with the CF2(46% of final blend) having a harvest chemistry of 21 Brix, 8.8 g/L TA and a pH of 3.33. The CF1 block (40% of final blend) was harvested on October 12th with a chemistry of 21.5 Brix, 3.36 pH and a TA of 6.7 g/L. The two lots were separately crushed and de-stemmed. The Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested on October 20, 2010. (22.6 Brix, 10.7 g/L TA, pH 3.22) It was pressed 9 days after fermentation and aged in an older neutral barrel and a 4thuse French Oak. Merlot was harvest of October 11, 2010 (22.8 Brix, 7 g.L, pH 3.33) and was pressed 7 days later and racked into older neutral barrel. The Gamay was harvested on September 27, 2010 (22.3 Brix, 8.6 g/L TA, pH 3.33). All the components were blended on February 23, 2011.
This silky red blend pairs with leaner meats such as veal, chicken, turkey, rabbit, game birds, and filets of beef and pork.
