2010 Luckystone White
|Wine Type:||White Wine|
|Varietal:||White Vinifera Blend|
Pale lemon with a fresh floral & citrus nose punctuated by a subtle tingling from lime zest and a fresh wave of grass. On the palette there is a mouthwatering effect of biting into a fresh yellow apple with the skin still intact. The lime zest continues and refreshes.
The Riesling grapes were harvested on October 17, 2010 yielding six tons, with an additional 11 tons being harvested two days later. This fruit was crushed, destemmed and pressed over two days, then fermented for 30 days. The Pinot Gris was harvested earlier, on September 14, 2010, yielding nine tons, where it was pressed in a single press load and fermented for 17 days. The Gewurztraminer and Chardonnay grapes were fermented for 25 days and 26 days, respectively. The final blend came after tasting through many different percentages (always predominantly Riesling) resulting in a soft blend with tropical and floral notes.
The crisp and refreshing style of Luckystone White matches well with popular seasoned foods, such as Mediterranean entrees, pastas and grilled meats.
