2014 Luckystone Riesling
|Wine Type:||White Wine|
Vibrant aromas of ripe tropical fruit, honey tangerine, and white peach lead to a crisp and refreshing finish. This wine is ideal for any gathering.
7.2 tons of R2 Riesling grapes and 9.9 tons from the R1 block were picked with harvest chemistry of 23.5 Brix, a TA of 7.4 g/L, and a pH of 3.20. The juice from pressing was settled for 5 days with the addition of 30 ppm sulfur dioxide. After being racked, the juice was warmed, inoculated with Epernay 2 yeast and fermented for 16 days. The fermentation was stopped by chilling at 5.9% residual sugar, after 26 days of fermentation at ~63F. The wine was racked off the fermentation lees after 41 days and was cold stabilized by leaving the wine outside during the winter months. No heat stabilization was necessary. The wine was sterile filtered through 0.45 micron pads and membrane during bottling. The free SO2 at bottling was 55 ppm.
470 cases were produced.
