Tasting Notes

Pale lemon in color with a hue of greenish straw. Aromas of butter and caramel mix with a hint of lilac on the nose. Refreshing lemongrass mingles with softer notes of white tea, lending to a light, crisp and clean finish.

Winemaker Notes

The Chardonnay was harvested on September 21, 2010 yielding 5.7 tons with harvest chemistry of 21.2 Brix, a TA of 7.3 g/L, and a pH of 3.34. After being crushed, 100 gallons were racked into 2 older French oak barrels, while the remainder tank fermented with 13 Peter DeVivi light toast NY state staves . The barrels fermented for 11 days and the tank fermented for 26 days. Malolactic fermentation began on 9/28/10 and finished much earlier than usual, by early December.

Our lightly oaked 2010 Chardonnay pairs well with poultry and pork dishes. Also try a buttery brie with baguette for a simple yet delicious snack.
