Winemaker Notes

On November 8, 2013, 7.3 tons of Riesling grapes were harvested from the R2 block. The fruit had an initial harvest chemistry of 20.2 Brix, a TA of 7.9 g/L and a pH of 3.2. After pressing, the juice settled for 3 days with the addition of 30ppm sulfur dioxide. The juice was racked, inoculated, and fermented for 16 days. The wine was racked off the fermentation lees 30 days after the fermentation was stopped and was filtered in the last two weeks of February, 2014. The final wine chemistry was 11.7% alcohol, 3.0% residual sugar, a TA of 8.3 g/L and a pH of 3.17. There were 386 cases of 2013 Luckystone Riesling produced.
